Hello and welcome!
My name is Zana Lokmer and this is my virtual home.
I have been fortunate to live in many different places- in Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and each continent, country, city has left mark on me. After several decades I am back to Europe, splitting my life between beautiful Cologne ( Germany ) and the inspiring Pula ( Croatia ). This is not new for me- I have always lived between worlds and have made homes out of unfamiliar places. And just my physical dwellings, this virtual home is filled with colourful art inspired by my new and old surroundings.
Nature has been my greatest muse, be it the vivacious hues of a sunset in Zimbabwe or the lush green woods of New Zealand. I’ve drawn inspiration from a birdsong in springtime and that first cup of morning coffee (which (for me) is an absolute must or otherwise nothing gets done!).
I paint what is around me. I am continuously surprised by the small wonders tiny details hide and I try to give these details a space where they can tell their stories. Colour invigorates me and I’m not afraid to use it!
